So the this spring and summer have brought our 1st real lessons about life and death. From squished rolly pollies, to baby goslings that fell prey to a mother coyote feeding her pups, to fishing for trout with grandpa, Myles is curious and concerned about the life and death nature of the world around us. Today we spent most of the afternoon trying to return this nestling to her nest. We were unsuccessful so we fashioned this makeshift nest out of paper towels and my colander. I was pleased to report to Myles with this photo that momma bird had come by to deliver some freshly puked dinner. If she survives the storm we are expecting tonight then she might make it. Needless to say, we will stay out of momma birds way for a while, but we will talk about it often.
