First Bite!

Rosie is cutting some teeth, and lately it's been pretty evident that she's ready to figure out what to do with those chompers once she gets 'em.  She's been mouthing the air and watching everyone with rapt attention every time we sit down for meals.
Last night we could torture our daughter no longer, and introduced her to her first food.  Myles chose what his sister would get to taste for the first time, and his choice of peas looks to have been a hit!

It wasn't long before she wrested the spoon from her mother's grasp and took matters into her own hands:

She's such a smiley girl, it can be easy to forget how determined she can be when she wants something!

Father's Day!

Yesterday I gave Myles an old digital camera we had collecting dust, and here are a couple of the pictures he's taken so far:

At this point, the majority of the pics are of me helping him remember which button to press, but I'm excited to see what sorts of images he finds important to capture in the future.

Some more family pics

On Memorial Day, we participated in our local 10K race.
Before

After
Myles really enjoyed the attention he got as Batman, even if he had long since moved on to an internal story where he was "Gum the Race Car". And Rosie seemed to enjoy being along for the ride, smiling and talking to everyone at first, then catching a nap along the way.

Also, Allyson mentioned Myles riding his big boy bike so I thought I'd include a picture:
He's getting to be a brave little dude, and as he gets more comfortable on his bike it gets harder to keep up!

Myles is such a great brother and great friend. Without him to help me
I don't know what I would do. He is so very patient with me as I can
get impatient or overwhelmed. He contemplates life's great questions,
is haunted by the incomprehensible nature of the universe, and rides
his big boy bike with wild abandon and good sense( for a 3 year old).
Hard not to round up when considering his age.
Rosie loves her talking dog Violet. She is getting so strong and
wiggly. She wants to engage the world with a smile and a sprint. She
is getting quite pretty.
