Christmas Break! (almost)

Allyson is already on Christmas break, and I've only got a couple days of work before I am too! Then we'll be heading to grandma and grandpa's house for a great Christmas adventure.

This weekend, though, we celebrated by having Granny Lou down on Saturday. We read many books and played with toys, and then that evening we went to the zoo for their amazing light show. It was a blast! Myles had a particularly hard time saying goodbye to these fine elephants.

I know it's only lights, but my teeth chattered at the thought of showering anything with water--it was COLD!

And this morning Myles got into his Monday Morning Christmas Break outfit, and I just had to get a picture.

Okay, maybe he didn't GET into it. Maybe more like he was PUT into it. It's darn hard to be taken seriously when nobody will dress you with dignity.

Snow Day!

It snowed heaps overnight, and it's still coming down!

I made it to work in about twice the time it usually takes this morning, but it appears that the rest of the Stone household is experiencing the snow in a much more enjoyable way!

Here are some pictures that I just got from Ally:

Update: I'm told that moments after that third picture was taken, Myles did a full-on, face-first dive down that slide. (Note to self: get this boy a helmet!)

Thanksgiving Weekend

I had a 5-day weekend over Thanksgiving, and boy did I have fun spending quality time with the family! We did some driving, and managed to get two whole Thanksgiving celebrations in, along with a whole lot of good times visiting folks.

Last year, Myles was sick and Allyson was on a chicken-and-rice-only diet, so hopefully last weekend helped to make up for that a little bit.

First, on Wednesday we went to Allyson's folks' house and had an early feast there with the grandparents and aunt Melissa. Grandma outdid herself with the incredible food, and Myles and Allyson and I helped Grandpa put up some Christmas lights!

Here's Myles and Momma in their outdoor gear:

Then, on Thursday we drove to my aunt and uncle's home, where we had a more sizeable and equally amazing time. I actually remembered to get the camera out during this celebration, and here are a few pics of the fun:

We drove home on Friday, where we went straight to a party that our friends Lee and Deb were throwing. At this point, Myles was getting a little worn out, but still rocked the party 'til it was time to go home to bed.

We have also gotten our Christmas decorations out for the house, and Myles has been enjoying all the toys and little shiny things that are floating around for the season.

On Sunday, I got to take Myles to the Children's Museum, and we had a ton of fun running around and playing with everything there was to play with. He had been there before with his mom, but I was psyched to be able to use him as an excuse for me to play on the toys too. Here he is in the costume area, checking out the head protection:

What fun!
