Walker.

Myles has been working hard to improve his walking skills. In fact, this evening we could interest him in little else.

Myles is crazy about animals, trains (Thomas to be specific) and airplanes. If you ever need a plane spotter, he is your man.

Myles is really enjoying autumn's mild days. As he gets older, he is more and more curious, adventuresome and talkative. He makes friends EVERYWHERE he goes. I thought a couple of these photos were sweet at the zoo. Myles and the orangutan really seemed to enjoy each other. The zoo volunteer says the animals get up close to the glass so they can see through the tinting.

We went on a family bike ride last weekend. It was a blast!

I know Mason announcedMyles's new walking trick. I felt it was important to give credit where credit was due. Here he is training with his Coach MJ in the park just 2 days before he walked independently.

Watch the video of 1 of Myles's training loops.

Myles is working on transitions, especially when they call for a clean up before moving on. Here he is cleaning up after having one of his favorite"snacks." I had just got him out of the tub, ran to answer the phone, and found my bathroom cluttered with a type of crumb. At least he tried to clean it up!

Stepping Stone

Last night, Myles took his first steps!

He had been pushing the dining room chairs around while I finished
cleaning up dinner. He looked up and decided to come to me, but the transition was a little further than he realized.

He took three bewildered steps toward his destination as I looked on
in wonder.

Look out world! Here comes Myles!

New Tricks

In the last few weeks, Myles has picked up a few new tricks.

Trick #1: Climbing Down the Stairs

(And he did make it down that last step. I was just too quick to rush to the rescue.)

Trick #2: Mastery of Diaper Fastening Technology

...Okay, so maybe he has only picked up a couple of new tricks. But I'd venture a guess that he might have discovered a new method of bathing himself if Mom and Dad would quit pulling him out of the dishwasher.

Update: I'm told that the video above is broken. Sorry. I'll try to catch some more footage soon.

Update to the Update: Nevermind. Sounds like it was working all along.

Weekend

Myles had a great Labor Day weekend. We spent Friday with Granny Lou and Grandpa Steve. Saturday night we went to a hot air balloon illumination, and Sunday we went to the State Fair with Grandma Coleen and Grandpa Dick.
