He made it to 10:30.

Princess Leia

I'm happy to see that Myles recognizes the toughness and coolness of Her Highness.

He spent the rest of the evening referring to me as "Han" and calling me a "scruffy-looking nerf-herder."

Rosie got in on the action too!  Since she can't talk, she can't really tell us what character she was, but I guess it was on the Dark Side, given the resulting light saber duel:

Happy Thanksgiving!

We celebrated our Thanksgiving with my family again this year, and it was wonderful as always. The kids were stellar, especially considering they were the only two kids in a houseful of adults for 6 hours.

Myles is into Star Wars right now, and you can only imagine his surprise when he discovered that my cousin John had a "real" lightsaber!

And then my cousin David took him outside for some fencing lessons and proceeded to have most of his body parts lopped off! (Note that Myles has lost his hand a la Luke Skywalker, but NOBODY could ever get him to lose more than that!)

And Rosie was her usual upbeat self, waving to all of her various relatives and singing them songs.

It was a wonderful time all around and I'm happy to have the family--both immediate and extended--that I do.

With the stomach bug in the house I have been wiping down surfaces a
lot. Clearly Rosie figured out the routine. As I was helping Myles
wash up after using the restroom, Rosie crawled over, pulled off a
couple toilet paper squares, and started wiping off the the toilet. 9
months and already offering to help. What a dear!

An offer you can't refuse

"Hey Daddy, if you give me all your moneys, I will give you my
workbench for ten days."

Growing up

So Myles asked for his wallet today. He asked to go to Costco to get a
hot dog. He ordered exactly what he wanted. He gave the clerk money,
got his change, and cried when the clerk handed him an empty cup. Poor
Myles. I guess he didn't understand fountain drinks.

Now
We are sitting at a table- at Myles's request. So grown up.

Myles picked this out

Says it is her princess Leia costume.

I found Myles holding Rosie

and whispering to her, "don't worry baby, brother has got you." over
and over. I just listened for a minute before taking this shot. It
was a good feeling. The flower?!? Well Myles "just loves" this flower
on his sister.

Halloween Parade

Way cool. Disney Magic at its finest--all the floats were in sync,
even though they were playing different songs!
Spooky and fantastical all at once!

Bruce the Shark

It was a little too rich for Myles's blood, but Allyson and Rosie were
up for the photo op!

9-14" water around cabins 4 days later

We will remember being a surviver of the rainstorm of 011
It was amazing-- a true 100 year storm.

Headed home

Today went to pick up final rations at the camp store. While i was
checking out Myles set about a dozen Mickey themed timers to go off
simultaneously 20 mins later. My son, who has been a total angel for
our entire trip, was only caught when mason heard him snickering. Time
to go home.

Off to the Halloween party

Catching a ride

Listening to street performers in Italy

Just hanging out with friends

I worried Myles was too young.

Truth is Rosie loved loved loved our trip. Never too young or too old.
